CHA and Other Health Care Organizations Sue State Over Medi-Cal Cuts
In an effort to ensure that all Californians have continued access to vital health care services, a coalition that includes CHA filed a lawsuit May 5 against the state of California to prevent a planned 10 percent cut in Medi-Cal and Denti-Cal payments from taking effect on July 1. Available
The charity care and discount payment law requires every
general acute-care hospital, psychiatric acute-care hospital and specialty
hospital to make the public aware of charity care, payment discounts and
government-sponsored health coverage programs. CHA has developed an easy-to-use
Charity Care & Discount Policies handbook to help frontline managers
understand, implement and comply with the new law.
Reports Issued on Post-Hospital Transition of Homeless Patients
Passed in 2006, AB 2745 (Jones, D-Sacramento) required California’s three regional hospital associations to convene local meetings of key stakeholders, identify best practices and opportunities for improving the hospital discharge of homeless patients and develop a report of recommendations.
