The goal of the study was to provide a critical appraisal of the evidence on the topic. The result of the study was Making Health Care Safer A Critical Analysis of Patient Safety Practices. Chapter 39 of the report, "Nurse Staffing, Models of Care Delivery, and Interventions," which specifically addresses nursing structure and process variables that may affect outcomes that relate to patient safety and quality.
